Category Description

Rebar is a steel bar employed in concrete construction to create reinforced concrete structures. Whether your project involves floor slabs, walls, or posts, the incorporation of reinforcing steel bars helps prevent cracks from compromising the structural integrity of the construction. While it’s inevitable for concrete to develop cracks, rebar and other reinforcing materials play a crucial role in controlling the location and extent of these cracks, providing added structural strength to the project.

The surface of rebar is often intentionally “deformed” with ribs, lugs, or indentations to enhance its bond with the concrete and mitigate the risk of slippage. The most prevalent type of rebar is carbon steel, typically comprised of hot-rolled round bars featuring distinct deformation patterns.

In Iran, a significant portion of rebar steels produced by Isfahan Steel Factory adheres to Russian standards. Iranian steel, produced in accordance with Russian standards, is categorized into three groups: type A-1 steel, type A-2 steel, and type A-3 steel.

Rebar A-1: the smooth type, with a yield strength of 2400 kg/cm2 and a tensile strength of 3600 kg/cm2. Rebar A-2: ribbed, possessing a yield strength of 3400 kg/cm2 and a tensile strength of 5000 kg/cm2.

Rebar A-3: ribbed, exhibits a yield strength of 4000 kg/cm2 and a tensile strength of 6000 kg/cm2.

The variety of rebar diameters also differs according to manufacturers’ standards. In the Russian system utilized by Isfahan Steel Factories, rebars up to 40 mm in diameter are manufactured. Rebars in Iran come in various diameters based on their standard type, with two primary and highly sought-after groups known as A2 and A3, named after the Russian GOST5781 standard.

However, it’s worth noting that, as per the Iranian national standard 3132, the aforementioned names are considered outdated, and their equivalents are 340 for ribbed rebar A2 and 400 for ribbed rebar A3.
